Chemical Peel: There's a Chemical Peel That's Right For You!
A chemical peel is a treatment that therapeutically removes the outer layer of the skin. While this might sound drastic, the chemical peel treatment is very controlled and easy, and the results are very beneficial. Chemical peeling will freshen the skin, remove some sun damage, remove rough skin, and even reduce freckles and irregular pigmentation. The peel is usually used on the face and it can also reduce wrinkles and reduce scarring. Chemical peels using food acids have been around since the time of Cleopatra but the modern chemical peel has been used and developed since the 1950s to give us a range of safe and effective treatments. While a peel can effective rejuvenate the surface of the skin, it does not tighten sagging skin, stimulate collagen production or remove broken capillaries. We often combine chemical peels with other treatments, such as microdermabrasion or IPL, to improve the underlying structure of the skin. However peels are very useful in rejuvenating thin and fragile skin where it wouldn't be appropriate to use a treatment like microdermabrasion.
Chemical peels are so useful, we use them in a variety of situations,
Some of our peels are 'non-ablative' which means there is no visible flaking of the skin. These are sometimes referred to as lunchtime peels as there is no downtime. Other chemical peels are stronger and cause visible shedding of skin. Although the skin can be moisturised, the skin flaking must be allowed to occur naturally and so the client must be prepared to put up with this for several days. We will give the client full aftercare instructions to minimise any inconvenience. Get More Information!
