What causes scarring?

After a large, deep wound has occurred to the skin, whether by surgery or an accident, both skin cells and connective tissues begin to multiply to repair the damage.

The connective tissues form a framework for the cells to migrate to and therefore fill in the wound. The balance of this replication will decide the severity of your scar.

How to remove acne and acne scarring

Conventional methods for scar removal involve either surgery to cut out the scar, which could result in further scarring, or chemical peels. Chemical peels are widely used but provide only a temporary solution, as the scars will eventually come back.

Other methods involve using specialist camouflage cover-up creams or just by covering up under clothing.
