A history of thread veins comes to an end

I started working as a builder in my early 20's and just 8 months after working outdoors for a living I noticed thread veins appearing on my cheeks and nose. At first, it was fine but 20 years on, the ruddiness and severity of the veins made me very depressed and I felt so self conscious and embarrassed that I knew it was starting to affect my confidence. The veins made me look so old and I knew I needed thread vein removal treatment.

I spoke to my Doctor initially about how to remove thread veins but, when he could offer little help, I searched the internet and read up about the type of treatments available at SkinGenesis. I organised a free consultation and the nurse performed a thorough skin assessment. She advised me that my thread veins were suitable for a course of IPL. After completing a detailed consultation process and completing a medical questionnaire, I went ahead with a patch test.

2 days later I returned for an assessment of the patch test and my skin was clear so I went ahead with the first treatment. It was relatively pain-free a sharp nip plus heat but it soon cooled and I felt nothing. After about 6 treatments I didnt even need the cooling pads after the treatment and the results were already looking good. Each treatment took only about half an hour and I suffered no side effects so it was really easy to fit into my life.

In the beginning, I would have been happy for any improvement but after 12 months and 13 sessions, I could not believe how different I looked. I no longer had the skin of a 65 year old and my skin colour and appearance had improved massively. The biggest difference of all though was how it made me feel. People tell me how well I look and I feel great!
