Acne Cure

It never originally occurred to us to have a page on this site called 'Acne Cure'.  All our research and experience points to the fact that there are no known 'acne cures' but, understandably, anyone with acne may well be searching for the best acne cure.

The reason there is not acne cure is that there is no single cause of acne.  Many avenues have been explored including cleanliness, diet, and hormones and there is no single factor that will determine the onset of acne.  However, there does seem to be a consensus that one of the principal causes of acne is a sensitivity to the hormone 'testosterone'.

While many people think of testosterone as a male hormone, women produce it as well although at lower levels than men. The key factor governing the likelihood of suffering from acne is your sensitivity to testosterone.  This is something that can't be treated which is why we say there is no acne cure.

But having a sensitivity to testosterone doesn't automatically mean you'll get acne.  By controlling blocked pores and sebum production the chance of getting breakouts can be greatly reduced.  

One of the key controlling factors is making sure your skin is properly 'balanced' and showing the optimum skin health surface acidity (pH) of 5.5.  This is important as getting the pH right means the ever present acne bacteria (p.acnes) are controlled by your skin's natural flora.
