SkinGenesis Supports Chester Finalist In National Model Search - Feb 10

Former Miss Chester, Naomi Heap, is preparing for what could be her big break into the fashion industry with the help of leading skin treatment clinic, SkinGenesis in Chester.

Naomi wowed the judges at her audition for TOP MODEL UK with her promising fashion-model potential, however prior to this she was diagnosed with a temporary illness that caused her to break out into spots, which almost crippled her chances of going through to the finals.

In a serious bid to clear up her skin in time for the finals, acne sufferer Naomi approached SkinGenesis, who agreed to provide complimentary treatments in order to give her the best possible chances of success in the competition.

Naomi said: “In such a competitive industry, it’s important that you have clear skin as this is the bare minimum that is expected of you. When I had an acne flare-up just before the audition, I really lost my confidence and thought my dreams were shattered.

“Thankfully, with the support from my Mum, I managed to find the courage to go to the audition and luckily they must have realised my potential, as they put me through on the condition that I sorted out my skin. This is my dream, so that’s exactly what I set out to do.”

Naomi was put onto the Dermaquest Acne Treatment Programme, which included a series of microdermabrasion sessions, gentle skin peels and IPL treatments.

Deborah Cope, clinic manager at SkinGenesis Chester, said: “Naomi has bags of potential and we really have everything crossed for her for the competition. Our treatments are ideal for people wanting to pursue a career in the public eye who may lack confidence due to problem skin. It is important not to let complaints such as acne get you down and Naomi is living proof that it needn’t hold you back.”

Finalist Naomi will compete alongside 29 other competitors in the commercial category of the national competition for a chance to start a professional career in modelling.

SkinGenesis will also be sponsoring the Bare Skin Awards at the competition, which will acknowledge those models with the best tone and skin clarity.

The TOP MODEL UK final takes place on 13^th and 14^th March 2010 and is the UK's premier live format, inclusive nationwide professional model search and fashion event, featuring a unique blend of top UK and European couture designers and high street retailers.
