Public to Save Hundreds on Skincare! - Sept 08

Non-surgical skin treatment clinic SkinGenesis is launching a revolutionary new service designed to change the way in which people approach their skin care, saving them hundreds of pounds on useless creams.

The Expert Skin Analysis service at SkinGenesis will provide a prescription for better skin, to allow clients to permanently alter the way that they choose skincare products. The analysis will be delivered by SkinGenesis’s expert Skin Specialists and will provide an insight into the three most important factors affecting skincare which are impossible to see with the naked eye:

·     Natural acidity (pH value)

·     Ultra Violet (UV) photo analysis of sun damage

·     Skin hydration (moisture content)

The natural acidity (pH value) of the skin is something which many frequently overlook when considering skincare, but it can have a huge impact on both the skin’s appearance and functionality. Many anti-ageing creams on the market have an alkaline pH, even though healthy skin has an acidic pH. Using creams with the wrong pH value can aggravate the skin, leaving it susceptible to dryness, acne and premature ageing.

SkinGenesis’s Expert Skin Analysis will examine each client’s skin pH to provide them with a bespoke prescription for their skin. This will allow them to then select products which best match their skin’s make up to help slow down the ageing process and improve the appearance of the skin.

The Expert Skin Analysis service also covers UV photo-analysis which can reveal hidden sun damage under the surface of the skin that may not be immediately obvious, but manifests itself by ageing the skin. By recognising problem areas of the skin means they can be protected from future sun exposure and steps can be made to reverse the ageing process.

The Expert Skin Analysis also monitors the skin’s hydration across several sites on the face. Skin dehydration is one of the main causes of ageing, and isn’t always accompanied by dry skin. By analysing the moisture content of the skin, steps can be taken to rehydrate the skin and so maintain its youthful appearance.

Peter Beard, Director of  Skin Treatment at SkinGenesis, commented: “Having a better understanding of the skin is vital in trying to maintain its optimum health and preventing ageing. By taking an in-depth look at the skin, we can educate clients as to which creams can help their skin, and which can actually damage it! By teaching clients about their skin, we hope we can really revolutionise the way that they approach their skincare routine.”
