Botox Babes: The Twenty-Something Phenomenon

Skin treatment experts SkinGenesis are warning twenty-somethings not to resort to Botox injections after a survey has revealed that one in three would undergo the treatment in order to maintain their youthful appearance.

The non-surgical treatment is normally favoured by those in their thirties or forties who have more pronounced lines and wrinkles, yet the survey of over 300 of their clients revealed a significant number of young people are going the extra mile to keep wrinkles at bay.

Treatments like Botox are more affordable than ever before, with prices having dropped from over £500 ten years ago to as little as £99 today. The injections are also available in a growing number of high street salons, giving young people easy access to the treatment.

A poor skin care regime can be the cause of early lines and wrinkles and so SkinGenesis would advise an in-depth skin care programme to improve the overall health of the skin, which would comprise of a number of more natural treatments.

SkinGenesis Director of Treatments Peter Beard comments "We are noticing a far higher number of enquiries into Botox coming from those in their twenties than a year or two years ago, and we're keen to promote the alternatives to Botox to those with young, healthy skin."

"While we offer Botox, and think it is the best way of treating the skin when lines and wrinkles have become pronounced, we prefer to offer our young customers a range of more natural treatment plans which are more effective for young skin than Botox."
