Skin Treatment and Adult Acne Treatment

Job-seekers and workers in Chester, Leeds and Manchester are increasingly turning to cosmetic improvements to boost their job prospects and business position, as the national unemployed rate continues to rise.

With competition in the job market getting fiercer by the day, people are seeking cosmetic improvements to maintain a flawless, youthful look, in a serious bid to make a good first impression at job interviews and to maintain a strong business position.

Bucking the downward trend, non-surgical skin treatment clinic, SkinGenesis, has seen a 40% rise in consultations booked via the internet during the first three months of 2009, compared with the last quarter of 2008.

It similarly recorded 30% more appointments across all of its clinics in January to March 2009, compared with the same time period at the beginning of 2008.

Peter Beard, director of treatments at SkinGenesis, commented: “Looking good gives people confidence and maintains a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude. We have recently seen a sudden influx of people seeking skin rejuvenation treatments, as well as acne treatment and thread vein removal, in a bid to maintain a youthful look to stay ahead of the game with their younger rivals.”

Non-surgical options are becoming increasingly attractive to cash-strapped people who need a confidence boost and wish to be taken seriously in the boardroom.

The trend is evident amongst both men and women in a bid to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and to help shift unsightly thread veins, redness and blemishes that have developed over the years.

Particular treatments that have rocketed since the first signs of the credit crunch include SkinGym, Botox, microdermabrasion, thread vein removal and adult acne treatment.

Peter added: “First impressions count and with jobs being so scarce at the moment, it has never been more important to ensure you make the right one. Some people may not have been for a job interview in years, so knowing that you look good provides the extra confidence boost that you need.

“It’s truly terrible that people with years of experience in their industry are being made redundant, only to be later superseded by younger colleagues and applicants. Anything that we can do to help people get back into work and put their expertise back into practice we will do whole-heartedly.”
