88% of British women unhappy with their skin. A survey conducted by the British Skin Foundation, found a staggering 88% of British women said they were unhappy with their skin. The 2005 Skin Health Survey also revealed that over 80% of women were mostly concerned with their face. In contrast, men did not express the same concerns with 60% suggesting they were satisfied with their facial looks. In Leeds, this concern is being addressed practically thanks to SkinGenesis. “Skin is a very visual thing so when there is a complaint that changes your appearance, it can massively affect confidence and self esteem.” Said William Haseldine, Director of Leeds based skin treatment clinic SkinGenesis. “Many people are unaware of the non surgical walk-in, walk-out procedures available to tackle trauma and damage to the skin. At our clinic in Leeds, we see clients every week who think there is no solution and cannot believe the outcome at the end of a course.” Although increasing numbers do suffer from serious skin diseases, there are still many people who are affected by skin complaints such as acne, blemishes, sun damage or scarring, even freckles and tired looking skin. And it doesn’t just affect the man in the street. Celebrities such as Keira Knightley, who recently spoke out about her acne, want to find an effective solution. Where there might previously have been few options to tackle such issues, easily accessible clinics based on the high street are now offering solutions to problems that not only affect appearance but also confidence. Easily accessed treatments such as microdermabrasion, intense pulse light, mesotherapy, gentle peels and the latest de-pigmentation treatments are proven to clear complexion and eliminate blemishes, recover the softness of the skin and restore its luminosity. They work deep in the layers of the skin encouraging healthy cell growth and promoting the production of collagen and elastin to leave the client with an entirely natural and healthy look. Registered with the Healthcare Commission, SkinGenesis has seen considerable growth in the number of customers using their easily accessible range of treatments. “Problems like acne can be treated quickly and effectively using a combination of microdermabrasion and gentle peels, and a clearer complexion can be achieved through photo-rejuvenation and de-pigmentation treatments if you suffer from Rosacea, thread veins, blemishes or pigmentation caused by the sun.” Added Haseldine, who recently attended the “Addressing Skin” seminar held by the British Skin Foundation at the Royal Society of Medicine, London. “None of the treatments are surgical procedures so can be treated over time with some treatments fitting into a lunch hour.” ENDS If you are interested in finding out more about the SkinGenesis, please visit www.skingenesis.co.uk or require information about this press release, please contact Jo Dales at Adessi Leeds on 0113 234 3862.
