Walk for skin, fixed by Jim

As is the way in drought stricken Britain, the whole of Sun Awareness Week turned out to be cold and damp and the Walk for Skin took place under heavy skies and some persistent rain.  However, our intrepid duo were undeterred - buoyed up by the good wishes of our generous clients who had sponsored them.

On completing the course, they were congratulated by Sir Jimmy Savile OBE who took pity on them.  Clare told us "He was very kind and even offered to take us to his home to dry out!"

“We really enjoyed it,” said Amanda. “Despite the rain, it was good fun and nice to be able to raise money for the charity. We see so many people with skin complaints such as acne and it can be distressing. This is a great cause!”

The walk in Leeds was one of 11 walks nation-wide organised by the British Skin Foundation, which is a charity supporting research into skin disease. “We’re really grateful to the SkinGenesis team for not letting the rain dampen their spirits and for joining the walk to raise money for skin disease sufferers. Every penny raised by the British Skin Foundation will be put towards much needed research to help find new treatments for the skin diseases that blight so many people’s lives. Thanks for your support!” Said Nina Goad at the British Skin Foundation.
