Miracle creams not worth it!

Last month, we asked you whether you thought you were being ripped off by the anti-ageing creams available on the high street. And the results were overwhelming; 94.4% of you agreed that the high streets attempts to stop the ageing process were a waste of money.

We conducted the survey on the back of recent TV research into which anti-ageing products actually have an effect on wrinkles, with the results showing that many products have such a low concentration of their “anti-ageing” components that they can be seen to do little other than moisturise the skin.

In order to label themselves as anti-ageing products, these creams must contain active ingredients such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Retinoids. However, to avoid the risk of side effects, many of these creams only contain very low concentrations and so are unlikely to have any real effects on your wrinkles.

At SkinGenesis, we were very interested to see what you though of the anti-ageing products on the market at the moment. In the UK , £650 million a year is spent on anti-ageing moisturisers and similar products, yet lack of consumer confidence is obvious from our survey.
