According to the latest statistics issued by the British Association for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, it has been revealed that cosmetic surgery procedures are currently on the rise, despite the much publicised credit crunch!

Whilst Gordon Brown is urgently trying to find people who might help buck the spiralling economic trend – perhaps someone should point him in the direction of the cosmetic surgery industry?

While the majority of surgery clients in the past year or so were women, the rise of male surgery was also evident from the stats, with men particularly opting for ‘moob’ jobs – for those who are confused, this is the adopted term for ‘male breasts’.

Surgery and other cosmetic procedures are becoming ever more popular and we think this is largely due to the fact that companies are making more of an effort to inform and educate people about the industry. This in turn leads to increased social acceptance of treatments, from injectable dermal fillers and Botox, right through to breast implants and liposuction.

The stats revealed that facial surgery has seen the greatest spend, with people desperate to wind back the clock and smooth out those pesky wrinkles. When administered properly, surgery and non surgical treatments can both bring great results for clients, having positive psychological and physical benefits.

It is however more important than ever before to do your research, ask questions and make decisions on quality, not just the price. In the current economic climate, clinics are ‘plumping’ for your business providing great deals and special offers, however choosing the right one will make sure that your treatments are successful and provide great value for money.
