Acne is not just a teen thing |
|
Acne is not just a teen thing Acne affects half of all teenagers and can be considered part of growing up. However when acne persists into late teens and adulthood, it becomes a real problem – and it’s not uncommon.
Over the age of 25 about 1 in 6 of teenage acne sufferers will still be having problems. Read Will’s story to learn how the SkinGenesis Adult Acne Treatment can help clear up your skin. Less well known is that some people are blessed with hardly a spot during their teens but then go on to develop acne in their 20s, 30s and 40s (known as adult onset acne). In a recent study, 8% noticed acne for the first time over 25 years old and at 40 significant lesions were still present in 1% of males and 5% of females.

Genesis Fundraising Evening |
|
On Wednesday 29 June 2005 SkinGenesis held a demonstration evening for the members of the Breast Screening Service. The team from SkinGenesis welcomed their guests with refreshments and provided an excellent insight into the wonderful world of skin rejuvenation.

All proceeds from the evening will go to the Genesis Appeal to build Europe’s first Breast Screening Prevention Centre in Manchester.
In addition, SkinGenesis is also supporting the Appeal by donating treatment vouchers to be raffled in due course.

The big botox question is being debated by us all at SkinGenesis. Initially we were rather reluctant to stick needles into people and squirt botulism toxin into the skin......
Botulism toxin is after all the only WMD found in Saddam’s rather empty arsenal after the last Gulf war. Despite that, a lot of clients were asking for the treatment so we decided to put our prejudices and pre conceptions to one side and look into again.
The first thing we found surprised us. It can be very safe. Now the astute among you will notice the slightly canny use of the word ‘can’ and will be thinking I’m greasing a trail to slither my way out. But it can be very safe, if it’s done properly by well trained and intelligent medical staff who source their botox from highly reputable medical sources. On the other hand it can be lethal.
Last year three people died in the USA from using veterinary quality botox and there are countless occasions where poorly trained practitioners have caused some quite drastic and unwanted effects.
Currently we are researching were we can get the best training for our staff, and which suppliers have the most stringent controls on sourcing or manufacturing their supplies. If we feel we can do it with complete safety at a price that doesn’t rip our clients off we will probably do it. Meanwhile we would like your views so either fill in the questionnaire or email us. We really would like your views and I promise I won’t publish your name on Peter’s page.
Meanwhile until our research is complete we are bringing in one or two product ranges of wrinkle removing products that have a good effect. So far I’ve tried one of them personally and after 5 days use I got quite a noticeable result. We are now widening our trial a little bit so we can see how effective it is on others (I quite like my wrinkles) and work out the most effective regime for using it. So for all you botox sceptics, there is hope out there.
Why not let us have your views?
