March 2001 Peter Beard buys first Energist IPL machine and forms Brightlights Skin Rejuvenation Ltd in Manchester – one of the first UK suppliers of this skin rejuvenation technology.

June 2002 Peter imports first ImageDerm micro-dermabrasion machine from California to the UK offering better results to clients with this more powerful machine. SkinGenesis remain to have good relationships with both suppliers.

April 2003 Peter, William Haseldine and Emma Parrish founded SkinGenesis Ltd, opening first clinic in Leeds , using Energist and ImageDerm equipment.

June 2004 Manchester SkinGenesis clinic opens.

‘SkinGenesis’ trademarked as the “Combined use of micro-dermabrasion and IPL (intense pulse light), photo-rejuvenation treatments for skin rejuvenation, refinement of fine lines and wrinkles, scars, acne, chicken pox scars, stretchmarks and skin resurfacing.”

November 2004 Introduced Eporex mesotherapy as a means to apply the SkinGenesis philosophy to body shaping and cellulite treatments.

January 2005 The company gained Investor in People accreditation in early 2005.

September 2005 Introduced regenerative, no downtime, skin peels as part of development of unique, performance guaranteed, acne treatment programmes.

July 2006 Introduced Laser Teeth Whitening as the professional way to lift stains from your teeth.

November 2006 Developed and launched SkinGym, the ultimate 40 day skin rejuvenation programme.

March 2007 Cheshire clinic opens. Offering the same high standards as the Leeds and Manchester clinics, the Cheshire SkinGenesis clinic is now in beautiful premises at 9 Mollington Grange, Parkgate Road, on the outskirts of Chester.

A comment from the Leeds clinic manager, Lynn Wilcox, RGN. (Joined SkinGenesis March 2003).

Since qualifying as a nurse in 1980 at St James’s hospital in Leeds, Lynn has worked on numerous surgical wards across Yorkshire . In 1991, Lynn moved on to work as a Line Manager at ‘Ultralase’, specialists in Refractive Eye Surgery. Lynn has worked for SkinGenesis as Clinic Manager in the Leeds clinic since April 2003.

She says: ‘I have found the role to be very challenging and rewarding. Not only because of the excellent results achieved through IPL/Microdermabrasion, but through building up a very close therapist/client relationship. I have seenfantastic psychological changes in clients. Once they have seen the significant improvements in their skin problems their self esteem and confidence rockets.’
